Cathedrals on Fraser Campground

Yes, Cathedrals on Fraser is one of the few places on the island where you are allowed to have camp fires. Collection of firewood or kindling is an offence on the island, so you can either bring your own milled timber, or purchase it at our shop.

You can bring your own fire pit providing it has an enclosed bottom and releases no residue into the ground. Something like a brazier or an Ozpig is fine. All coals and ashes must be placed into one of our fire rings and not dumped into the bush.

Yes, we are fully dingo-fenced.

All our sites are roughly 10x12m, if your caravan is off-road and can fit within a site this size then we are happy to have you stay with us.

However, only high clearance 4WD vehicles are suitable for the island’s sandy forest tracks and beaches. Drivers of all-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles with low ground clearance may find beach access points and inland tracks impassable. Drivers should ensure their vehicle is capable of towing trailers in deep soft sand.

All our sites are roughly 10x12m. You can have 2 cars and 2 tents or 1 car with a camper trailer per campsite.

A maximum of 6 people per campsite (with the exception of the premium powered sites which allow a maximum of 10 people).

There is no minimum stay.

Generators up to 2.0kVA and 65 decibels may be used from 9am-8pm.

No, all fish cleaning needs to be completed down at the beach in line with Queensland National Park standards.

The nearest points to us are Dundubara, 10 mins north, and Cornwells Break Road, 40 mins south. Emptying of portable toilets is strictly prohibited on site.

Our campground has no phone reception, however we do sell Wi-Fi at the shop. $5.00 per day, per device and it only works on the shop verandah.

You do not need a National Park camping permit to stay in our private campground. You will need a vehicle access permit to drive on the island.

No, pets are not permitted on the island.

Yes, the water from the taps in our campground is safe to drink.

The camp kitchens have microwaves, kettles, toasters, gas stovetop (no oven), fridges, freezers, hot water sink, and tables and chairs. BYO cutlery and crockery.
