Cathedrals On Fraser is home to one of the most pristine places for you to enjoy glamping on Fraser Island. If you’re unfamiliar with the term glamping, the easiest way to explain it is that it’s a combination of the words ‘glamorous’ and ‘camping’.
Fraser Island is a UNESCO World Heritage site for many good reasons – hundreds of kilometres of pristine sandy beaches and exquisite rainforests are just a couple. When you make a reservation with us to enjoy glamping on Fraser Island, we can almost guarantee you won’t want to leave. There are so many things for you to look forward to:
There is so much more that we could add to this list, but the best way for you to see is to come and experience it for yourself.
You have a selection of accommodation to choose from when you stay with us at Cathedrals on Fraser. Our first recommendation would be that you investigate what kind of accommodation would be most suited to your needs.
As with any accommodation, you’ll find various levels of glamping accommodation. You can start with a basic tent that has been set up for you, with basic beds and linen and work your way right up to luxury permanent tents or yurts with air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms.
If you’d like more information about glamping, Fraser Island-style, please feel free to get in touch with us. We look forward to welcoming you.
Aim to travel two hours either side of low tide wherever possible. Ensure you are not driving on the beach two hours either side of high tide.
It is recommended that you reduce tyre pressure before you get to Fraser Island. This is even more important if you are towing (don’t forget to reduce your trailer/caravan tyre pressures too!) If you are an inexperienced driver or towing a trailer or caravan, we recommend taking the Mantaray barge out of Rainbow Beach to avoid the need to take an inland track. Generally, the eastern beach route will be a smoother journey. During dry weather the sand at Inskip Point can become very soft and vehicles can easily get bogged getting on and off the barge.

In an emergency, dial 000. If you don’t have mobile reception try 112. Help can be hours away, so carry a well-stocked first aid kit and medical supplies.
